Today, the Brisbane nu-metal outfit Headwreck announced their partnership with EMPIRE — becoming the first band in their genre to join the iconic independent label’s roster, which has helped launch the careers of artists including Kendrick Lamar, Anderson .Paak and Shaboozey.

Of the partnership, Headwreck shared:

“From the first time meeting, it was clear they genuinely understand our vision, who we are and where we want to go. They’ve built something special by empowering artists to stay true to themselves, and that’s exactly the kind of team we want behind us. We’re very excited for this next chapter. We can guarantee it won’t be boring ;)”

Peter Kim, Director of A&R at EMPIRE, added:

“Headwreck is one of those instinctive decisions — you hear it and just know. There’s a rawness and intensity to what they’re doing that feels both fresh and necessary right now. They’ve got the songs, the identity, and the ambition to break on a global level. We’re fired up to help share their vision with the world.”

Australian Territory Manager Cameron Walsh also praised the band’s creative vision and unique sound:

“There’s something undeniably compelling about Headwreck – the immediacy of their sound, the clarity of their identity, and the genuine connection they’re building with fans. What really stands out is how intentional everything is – from their fully in-house creative to the chaotic energy of their live shows and the way they channel early 2000s heaviness into something far more expansive, at the intersection of metalcore, alternative and electronic-driven sounds. For EMPIRE, it’s about aligning with artists who are shaping culture in real time, and Headwreck are doing that in a way that feels both raw and authentic.”

New Single “Raindrops” Out Now

Alongside the announcement, Headwreck have unleashed their explosive new single “Raindrops”, marking their first new music since their ARIA-charting record Attitude Adjustment dropped in October last year.

The track debuted on triple j Drive earlier this week to a buzzing response, delivering textured production, mixed vocal delivery and crushing guitar and drum grooves. Speaking about the song, the band explained:

“The lyrics explore the feeling of not being able to be rid of someone who negatively impacts your life, but are still delivered in a fun way, true to the Attitude Adjustment style.”

Fans can stream “Raindrops” now and check out the official music video.

Massive EU/UK Run And Download Festival Appearance

The new single arrives as Headwreck kick off a mammoth EU/UK run, including an extensive support tour with Paledusk, a string of headline dates and an appearance at Download Festival in June.

The band will also join We Came As Romans and Thrown for Download sideshows before returning home to support Bury Tomorrow across Australia this September.

After previously supporting heavyweights including Northlane, The Amity Affliction, Polaris and Thornhill, Headwreck recently completed a completely sold-out debut headline tour across Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

Their latest release Attitude Adjustment debuted at #7 on the ARIA Album Charts and #9 on the Vinyl Charts, while the band have also been named one of triple j Unearthed’s Forecast Artists for 2026.

Blending glitch-heavy chaos with raw emotion, the quartet — Connor Hickman (vocals), Jamo Benadie (guitar), Dayne Paix (bass), and Colby Horton (drums) — have already amassed more than 3.5 million streams and built a fiercely loyal fanbase through their nostalgic aesthetic, intense live performances and bold creative vision.
