Review By Alison Setright
Hold onto your battle axes, power metal warriors, because Majestica is BACK, and they’ve delivered an absolute masterpiece with Power Train! Released on February 7, 2025, via Nuclear Blast, this album is a high-speed, symphonic joyride packed with soaring vocals, blazing guitar solos, and all the over-the-top epicness we’ve come to love from Sweden’s reigning power metal kings.

A Legendary Comeback
For those unfamiliar (how?!), Majestica was originally formed as ReinXeed by the incredible Tommy Johansson (yes, that Tommy from Sabaton). After rebranding in 2019, they dropped Above the Sky and have since been blessing us with album after album of cinematic, fantasy-infused power metal magic.
But Power Train? Oh, this one is on another level.
The Singles That Shook the Kingdom
Majestica teased us with three singles leading up to the album, and each one was pure, unfiltered joy.
- “Power Train” – The title track is a full-speed anthem, combining lightning-fast riffs, glorious harmonies, and a chorus so catchy you’ll be singing it for days.
- “A Story in the Night” – A dynamic, storytelling-driven masterpiece that blends theatrical elements with face-melting metal.
- “Battle Cry” – And speaking of epic, let’s talk about that music video.
The “Battle Cry” Video – Sharpen Your Axes
When Majestica dropped the music video for “Battle Cry,” they didn’t just give us another headbanger—they gave us pure, unfiltered holiday magic.
The video features a massive crowd of fans rocking out while wearing Santa hats! Because why shouldn’t a battle cry also be a Christmas carol?! The energy, the joy, the sheer power metal wholesomeness—it’s impossible to watch without smiling. Honestly, if you haven’t seen it yet, stop reading and go watch it NOW.
A Tribute to a 90s Fantasy Classic
One of the biggest highlights of Power Train is “My Epic Dragon”, a song that pays tribute to the legendary 90s fantasy film Dragonheart.
If you grew up watching Draco the dragon and Sean Connery’s unforgettable voice performance, then this track will hit you right in the nostalgia. With cinematic orchestration, larger-than-life melodies, and lyrics that capture the heart of the film’s themes of honor and friendship, this song is an instant classic.
It’s basically the metal anthem Dragonheart always deserved!
Final Verdict
Majestica has once again proven why they are the undisputed champions of symphonic power metal. Power Train is fast, dramatic, and utterly exhilarating. If you love bombastic melodies, sky-high vocals, and music that makes you feel like you could ride a dragon into battle, then this album was made for you.
