Knotfest Australia is officially set to return in early 2025, with dates and venues confirmed for Melbourne, Brisbane, and Sydney. This will be the festival’s third edition, kicking off at Flemington Racecourse, Melbourne, on Friday, 28 February. The event will then move to the Brisbane Showground on Sunday, 2 March, before wrapping up at Centennial Park in Sydney on Saturday, 8 March.
With a week-long gap between Brisbane and Sydney, a first for the Australian leg of Knotfest, there’s a growing buzz that the lineup will be massive, possibly requiring a host of sideshows to accommodate all the acts. While the full lineup remains a mystery, Slipknot is locked in as the headliner, bringing their iconic festival back to Australia after a string of successful anniversary shows playing tracks from their debut album.
Promoters Destroy All Lines have also announced that fans who attended Knotfest 2024, headlined by Pantera and Disturbed, will get exclusive early access to tickets for next year’s event. Knotfest’s signature two-stage, clash-free setup will ensure that fans won’t miss a single moment of the action.
As for lineup predictions, names like System Of A Down, Machine Head, Whitechapel, and Falling In Reverse are being tossed around as potential acts. Orbit Culture, rising stars of the metal scene, and Till Lindemann, frontman of Rammstein, who has performed at several Knotfest events globally, are also exciting possibilities.
Australia’s own Make Them Suffer is another solid candidate, especially with their new album on the way. However, don’t expect to see Lorna Shore, as they’ll be touring Australia in February, or Killswitch Engage, fresh off their support for Iron Maiden. Knotfest 2025 is shaping up to be an unmissable event, with a lineup that promises to be heavier than ever.
